Parables 2 - Finding the Right Direction

A PARABLE ABOUT FOLLOWING

Follow the white lines painted on the road, see where it leads. I wonder where it goes. Could it lead to panokio's nose, or Dorothy's yellow brick road? If I take a drive on a lonely road, can I still find out where the white line goes. I look to the left and look to the right; the end is not in sight. I look as far as the eyes could see, I imagine what the end would be, by following the white line, I would never see.

THE MEANING OF THIS PARABLE ABOUT FOLLOWING

Have you ever followed someone who had a never-ending story, always something or another, just to keep you in his or her inner circle. They say things like, we would do this and we could do that, just like the white lines on the road, on and on and on - non-stop, leading to nowhere. Yet, you keep on following them and wondering where is the punch line. You keep looking ahead to the finish line, but it's not in sight. If you keep following and listening to someone like that, you will never see the end. Just like the white line in the road.

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT

Mathew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock (KJV)

A PARABLE OF WHAT YOU SEE

A traveling man knows no end, here and there, on and on, he keeps on going. The express train passes by, no stoppage, the traveling man is on board. Next stop the train passes, till it reaches its destination.

As the bird fly to high altitude, clear passage at a non-stop speed, cruising and gliding, no obstacle interruption ahead.

Can I run, when there is no hurdle to jump? Can I swim, but no relay? When I look back, it was a local train, and the traveling man was at the stop. The bird was in the forest with many trees, while the runner leaps over many huddles. However, the eyes saw none of these.

THE MEANING OF THIS PARABLE CALLED WHAT YOU SEE

The traveling man is symbolic of somebody who is always on the move towards his destination. He is like an express train that never stops at the local stations. This means, that the bumps and blockage, which occurred, he just passed them by, because his purpose is to reach his intended destination. Although there are hurdles and obstacles in his way, his eyes would never see them, all he sees is the result.

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. (KJV)

A PARABLE OF NEGLECTED

As a baby cries in the midnight hour, somebody neglects to answer. Momma, dada he yearns for his mother and father. As the night prolong, his cry gets longer. Once a man and twice a child. The older you get, the child is reveald. Yet his faith is sealed. When you were young, did you respond? When the cry was there, did you hear? What goes around comes around; it was the cry from the baby's lounge. Once again that distinguished sound, yes, it did come around.

THE MEANING OF A PARABLE OF NEGLECTED

This is often done to babies and young children. When babies cry in the midnight hour, nobody wants to get out from their beds and attend to the baby's needs. However, the saying goes that you should do unto others, as you would like others to do unto you. This is the same as what goes around comes around. But there is not a time limit to when what you do unto others would come back to you. It might just come back to you when you are elderly and really need someone's help.

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT

Mathew 7:12 "Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. (NLT)
