HELP US OUT!

Current needs:

  • Regular sources of donated food (vegan/vegetarian please)

  • Large containers with lids for transporting meals

  • More volunteers for cooking, collecting food and assisting with the picnics in the park

  • We have an opportunity to obtain breads and pastries from the Kash 'n' Karry bakery on 22nd Ave N and 34th St. Contact Teresa in the Bakery/Deli dept. Pick up can be made every day but must be completed before 8AM. We need someone to retrieve this food! If you are an early bird with some mode of transportation, please let us know if you can help out. Contact carol@stpetefnb.org.

  • And speaking of pick ups...we are always getting notes from people who have stuff we have no way to retrieve ...usually these offers come from North Pinellas or Tampa, but not always. If you are willing to help out with an occasional pick up, please send us an e-mail. Let us know what your range would be (i.e. "I can pick up stuff in Dunedin any Tuesday or Thursday. I can deliver stuff to St. Pete any Wednesday or Friday.") PLEASE INCLUDE BOTH DAYS AND LOCATIONS WHEN VOLUNTEERING...'cause if you can only pick up fresh veggies on Saturdays, for example, the stuff may not keep until the following Friday.

  • Check out Books Not Bombs ...click here to find out ways to volunteer.

  • If you travel a lot, please consider saving those travel soaps, toothbrushes, shampoo bottles, and whatever other personal items you might not use. Bring them to the park or e-mail us if you can't bring them yourself. We'll try to arrange for pick up!

  • Socks are a year 'round need for the homeless. In the winter your feet get cold, and in the summer, the bugs like to nibble on them. Please take up a collection or consider doing a "sock drive" with your friends, family and neighbors (a Sock Hop? Why not?).

  • See a deal on bug repellant? Please consider putting a bottle of it on next week's shopping list!

  • Plastic tarps, rain gear, old plastic shower curtain liners - all can help protect someone from having a really miserable night on the streets.

VENUE NEEDED!

If you can provide a venue for a St. Pete FNB benefit show (or better yet, help arrange one), please e-mail carol@stpetefnb.org
